as he watered his garden, a very old man waved to me as i drove through his neighborhood in search of something to photograph.

we were strangers that interacted for no more than 5 seconds, but he reminded me to take time to love.

that only good things may come to you.

This is a photo I took of the bridge that the look, "that only good things may come to you", was taken on. No matter how much I travel the world, this bridge remains one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, but maybe because of the sentimental value that it has to me. I have taken countless pictures with good friends here, remember riding my bike it when I was younger, and look forward to more memories on this bridge before I move next year for school. I just wanted to post this because I want to share something so beautiful. e

new shades. yum.

These are my new (and amazing) shades that i just had to show off. I got them today at the Salvation Army for 25 cents. =) They are flexible AND THREE-TONED, like the kind that i had when i was a kid. i'm super excited that i found another pair of these, now when they get stuffed in my purse/backpack they won't break like all the other glasses that get crushed by my textbooks. As you can see below they are quite inspirational to my inner-model...

faint and reoccurring patterns.

Many of my LB friends commented and asked about how i styled my hair in my recent post, "faint and reoccurring patterns". Let me tell all of you: IT IS REALLY EASY. I have naturally wavy hair so after i dry my hair i quickly run a straightener through random pieces of my hair, leaving some with a bit of wave and others completely straight. The secret for styling is simple: first and foremost, a great haircut is the basis for amazing hair (thanks Myles) and the second part of the secret is
Osis Dust It Mattifying Powder by Schwarzkopf. The powder gives the same effect as A LOT of hairspray on second day hair, except it's allows the hair to retain movement and moldability. When i style my hair with the Dust It powder i put on the roots as well as the rest of my hair and then use my hands to make my hair messy and piecey. I think i may have put a tiny bit of hairspray in it after i was done styling it, but it's not really necessary. =) e

light painting and cold toes.

Here are some photos from a light painting photography adventure that my good friend Allee and I went on last night. Many times we just get in the car and drive until we find something that intrigues or inspires us. This time, our adventure took us to a field next to The Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay in California. The Sundial Bridge is a magnificent architectural work designed by Santiago Calatrava and measuring 217 feet in hight, it is credited as the world's tallest functional sundial. Needless to say, it is a gorgeous piece of art, and Allee and I were extremely inspired by the bridge and its surrounding landscape. However, we didn't realize how cold it was until we actually got outside and started taking photos, thus we were only able to get about an hour worth of photos for fear of frostbit toes. lol. The photos were all taken about 10:30 PST and were done using shutter speeds between 10 and 30 seconds. Light painting, in essence, are photographs taken at night with long exposures and LED lights used to "paint" in the photo. These are just a few photos from this particular outing and more photos from future adventures will be coming soon. =) e

More of Santiago Calatrava's work can be viewed here.

i'm still free to think.

unlimited keys.
limited time.
these thoughts.
control the mind.
unwritten song.
unwritten life.
don't avoid decisions.
don't avoid life.
ticking clock.
scary thought.
ticking clock.
love brought.
